Do you accept insurance?

We verify your coverage at no charge within 24 hours. Complete our intake form and we'll handle the rest. You'll know exactly what's covered and what your out-of-pocket cost will be before any equipment is ordered.

What is HQAA accreditation and why does it matter?

HQAA stands for Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation. It's a voluntary national accreditation specifically for DMEPOS (Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies) suppliers.

Achieving HQAA accreditation means our business has been independently audited and verified to meet strict quality standards for:

  • Equipment sourcing and maintenance
  • Patient rights and complaint procedures
  • Staff training and qualifications
  • Billing accuracy and compliance
  • HIPAA privacy protection

Not all DME suppliers are accredited. Choosing an accredited supplier protects you from substandard equipment, billing errors, and privacy violations.

Do you deliver to my home?

Yes β€” all equipment is delivered directly to your home. We don't operate a storefront pickup model; we come to you.

Do I need a prescription for DME?

It depends on the item. Many DME products require a physician's prescription (called a "written order" in Medicare terminology) for insurance coverage. Items that require a prescription are clearly marked on our website with an "Rx Required" badge.

If you don't have a prescription yet, don't worry β€” we can coordinate with your doctor's office to obtain the necessary documentation. This is a normal part of our intake process and we handle it regularly.

Cash-pay customers can purchase most items without a prescription, though we still recommend involving your physician to ensure the equipment is appropriate for your condition.

What are your hours?

Our physical office hours are Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

However, our online shop is available 24/7 β€” you can place orders, submit intake forms, and request insurance verification any time. Messages and form submissions received outside business hours are addressed on the next business day.

For urgent equipment needs (e.g., post-hospital discharge), call us directly at 607-270-2777 and we'll do our best to accommodate same-day service.

Can I rent equipment instead of buying?

Yes. We offer daily and monthly rentals on most major equipment categories, including hospital beds, wheelchairs, knee scooters, lift chairs, nebulizers, patient lifts, rollators, and commodes.

Rental includes free delivery, setup, and pickup. We also offer a rent-to-own program where up to 3 months of rental payments apply toward the purchase price if you decide to keep the equipment.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns on unopened, unused items within 30 days of delivery. The item must be in its original packaging and in new condition.

Non-returnable items (for hygiene and safety reasons):

  • Opened wound care supplies
  • Used orthotics and braces
  • Diabetic testing supplies once opened
  • CPAP masks and accessories once removed from packaging

Do you repair equipment?

Yes. We service and repair most major brands of wheelchairs, power scooters, hospital beds, lift chairs, and other DME β€” whether purchased from us or elsewhere.

  • Warranty repairs performed at no charge on equipment purchased from MediHarbor
  • Out-of-warranty repairs: we provide a written estimate before any work begins
  • Loaner equipment available during repair downtime (subject to availability)
  • In-home service available for large or immovable equipment
How do I know which equipment is right for me?

We also offer free consultations by phone. Our staff will review your doctor's order (if you have one) and recommend the right equipment for your diagnosis and living situation. We never upsell β€” we recommend what actually fits your needs and budget.

Are your prices competitive?

Yes. We price all products 20–30% below manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP). As a direct importer and distributor on many product lines, we're able to pass those savings on to patients.

We also match or beat local competitor pricing on identical items. If you find a lower price on the same product from a licensed local supplier, call us and we'll work to meet it.

Is my personal and medical information secure?

Absolutely. MediHarbor is fully HIPAA compliant. All forms on our website use SSL/TLS encryption. Patient data is stored in a HIPAA-compliant environment and never shared with third parties or sold.
