Medicare covers the lift mechanism portion only on seat lift chairs — not the full chair. The mechanism is typically $200-400 of the total chair cost.

Medicare Coverage

Medicare Part B covers the seat lift mechanism when a physician documents severe arthritis or neuromuscular disease limiting ability to stand. Patient lifts are covered as DME when prescribed.
